He began his involvement as Academy coach in 2000 and from that academy intake, he became manager of Cavaliers FC Under 9's for 2001/02, this is the side he now manages at the Under 12's age group.

As Under 11's last season, they had tremendous success as Runners Up in the Derby City League and Cup competitions. They won the inaugural Derby County Academy Cup at Moor Farm and also won several other pre and post season 5-a-side tournaments.
